Alexandria, VA (11/29/16) – Miller-Motte College and Miller-Motte Technical College have announced that they will partner with Roehl Transport to train over 150 new truck drivers through the college’s CDL training program within the next six months.
“This partnership reinforces our commitment to service both the educational needs of students and the employment needs of reputable companies like Roehl Transport,” explains Carmen Oviedo, SVP Career Services, Community Outreach and Government Affairs.
Roehl Transport is planning to hire hundreds of new commercial truck drivers across the U.S. in the coming months to meet the growing demand for freight transport. Students who meet Roehl Transport’s employment requirements can train for their license at any of our CDL.com approved locations in just a few weeks.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS.gov), truck driving jobs are projected to grow 5%, over 400,000 jobs, from 2014 to 2024 in order to meet the ever-growing need to transport goods across the nation.
The American Trucking Associations (ATA) reports that tractor-trailer trucks move nearly 70% of America’s freight tonnage from coast-to-coast. The amount of freight required to keep supply chains moving for manufacturers is growing and will continue to impact the demand within the trucking industry overall (ATA.com).
With over 5,000 trailers and over 2,000 power units on the road, Roehl Transport is one of the nation’s 100 largest trucking companies with terminal locations and drop yards located across the country. As a pillar of the transportation industry, Roehl Transport has received trucking’s highest honor, the ATA’s President’s Award three times. Roehl has also been repeatedly recognized for excellence in Trucking Claims and Loss Prevention, named a Military Friendly Employer by the publishers of GI Jobs Magazine and is a founding member of the SmartWay Transport Partnership (from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
