National Surgical Technologist Week

In honor of of National Surgical Technologist Week, Miller-Motte Technical College in Lynchburg, VA is hosting a series of events. To kick off the National Surgical Technology Week, Miller-Motte Technical College wants you to experience a mock c-section. Watch the video below to experience it for yourself.

  • Monday, September 21 at 6:30pm – Witness a mock c-section with Dr. Jerry Lucas, OB/GYN.
  • Tuesday, September 22 at 6:30pm – Listen to Dr. Robert Bass, General Surgeon and Lt. Colonel for the U.S. Army Reserves, speak about how the Iraq and Afghanistan wars/conflicts have changed the way we practice trauma treatment in the E.R. and O.R.’s in the U.S. 
  • Wednesday and Thursday, September 23 & 24 – Surgical Technology Students will be serving cake to the student body, faculty and staff.
  • Thursday, September 24 at 6:30pm – View a mock right colectomy with Dr. Robert Bass, General Surgeon.

About National Surgical Technologist Week

"National Surgical Technologist Week is a great opportunity to recognize our current Surgical Technology students,” said Susie Rowland, Campus Director at Miller-Motte Technical College. “And we are here to help prospective students determine if this program is right for them, whether just starting out in your career or wanting to change careers.”

Faculty and staff will be available all week to help answer questions. Miller-Motte’s National Surgical Technologist Week events are free and open to the public.
