                  • Criminology: This course examines causation, criminal deviation and processes in criminal justice. Criminal typology and patterns are studied as well as the social, economic and psychological forces involved in the perpetration of a crime. 
                  • Information Security & Cyber Crime: This course explains the role of the criminal justice professional within information security including an understanding of cybercrime, cyber-victimization and cyberterrorism as well as forensic investigations and information security risk assessment.
                  • Terrorism and Homeland Security: This course provides students with a comprehensive look at the issues surrounding terrorism and the impact it has on Homeland Security. Students will explore the origins, motivations, tactics and financing of various domestic and international terrorism agents. Students will further analyze the role terrorism plays on international policy, Homeland Security and domestic policy.

                  Criminal Justice Careers

                  The Bureau of Labor Statistics says that by the year 2022, there will be a 12% increase in jobs for Security Guards.* With an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Criminal Justice, you’ll be prepared to go after a job in this growing field.

                  Security Guard
                  Security Guards maintain the security of people and buildings. As a Security Guard, you will patrol building perimeters to check for problems or suspicious activity. You may also monitor surveillance equipment in order to keep an eye on bigger areas.

                  Correctional Officer and Jailer
                  Correctional Officers and Jailers guard prisoners in penal or rehabilitative institutions, making sure they follow any rules and regulations of the institution. As a Correctional Officer and Jailer, you will also guard prisoners when they are traveling between prison facilities and the courtroom.

                  Court Clerk
                  Court Clerks manage courtrooms, keeping everyone and everything organized. As a Court Clerk, you will perform clerical duties like recording court proceedings or securing documents. You will also communicate with both lawyers and witnesses to let them know when they need to appear in court.

We also offer 100% online programs through our Wilmington location (Business Administration, Criminal Justice, IT Support Specialist and Medical Billing and Coding).
