Miller-Motte’s CDL Training: Class A Tractor Trailer Program will prepare prospective drivers for their CDL exam as well as an on-the-road career.
We offer a comprehensive four-week program, with one week of in-class instruction followed by three weeks of hands-on training behind the wheel of actual tractor trailers. All of our equipment is top of the line, offering students the chance to learn the skills necessary to work as a certified Commercial Truck Driver.

We accept any combination of credit card or personal loans – whatever is most comfortable for you.
Your employer may offer tuition reimbursement where you will be compensated for school costs based on certain criteria. Typically, this means you cover costs up-front and the company pays you back later. Ask your HR Department or your Supervisor for details.
National and regional transportation companies needing more employees will often sponsor training for current employees. Ask your current company (if it makes sense for you), or we may be able to connect you with an employer who could help pay for training.
Grants & Aid
Some government agencies and non-profit organizations offer financial aid for CDL training. Eligibility is determined on an individual basis, and American Job Centers offers help to access programs such as:
- The Workforce Investment Act (WIA): Funding available for employment and training assistance
- Occupational Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR): Funding for those who have been injured or suffer other physical or learning disabilities
- The Trade Adjustment Act (TAA): Funding for those whose jobs have been moved overseas
The GI Bill
If certain qualifications are met, the Post 9/11 GI Bill and the Montgomery GI Bill provide military members with federal funding for CDL training programs. These aren’t loans, so you won’t need to pay anything back and up to 36 months of financial assistance is provided. Ask if you and your preferred location qualify.

This school is regulated as a commercial motor carrier by the US DOT and THEC. It takes fewer than 300 hours to complete this program; therefore it is not within the scope of ACICS Accreditation and is not eligible for Title IV funding.
The U. S. Department of Education (the “Department”) requires that we bring to your attention important information about our accreditor, the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (“ACICS”), and our pursuit of alternative accreditation.
Your ability to use federal student aid to pay for your program with Miller-Motte Technical College-Madison depends on our being accredited by an accrediting agency that is recognized by the Department. In December 2016 the Department ended its recognition of ACICS and is requiring that we and all other ACICS-accredited schools obtain accreditation from another recognized accreditor by June 12, 2018.
Miller-Motte Technical College-Madison has ceased new enrollments and has determined not to seek alternative accreditation. Miller-Motte Technical College-Madison is continuing to operate and offer its programs and services to enable as many currently enrolled students as possible to complete their programs before June 12, 2018. Any currently enrolled students who have any concerns that they may not be able to complete their programs by that date should make appointments with the Campus Director to discuss their options.
Any current or prospective student who has a complaint relating to Title IV eligibility or administration, the quality of education received at Miller-Motte Technical College-Madison or otherwise relating to the accreditation standards of ACICS can submit that complaint to any of the following channels:

Definition of Placement
The school uses the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) placement rate methodology. ACICS applies the following Definition of Placement to outcomes reported by member institutions:
- Placed based upon job titles: Any graduate or completer of a program that was placed based upon job titles included in the list of job titles published by the institution for which the program prepares students. These job titles must be those published by the institution on its web site in compliance with USDOE Title IV regulations and must be identified in the Department’s CIP-to-SOC Crosswalk (Standard Occupational Classification, U.S. Department of Labor) with the Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) code of this program.
- Placed based upon the required use of skills: Any graduate or completer of a program that was placed based upon the required use of skills learned in the student’s program as a predominant component of the job. These skills must be those listed in the institution’s published program description and a majority of these skills must be documented in the employer’s job description as required or desired skills, duties or responsibilities.
- Placed based upon the benefit of the training: Any graduate or completer of a program that was placed based upon the benefit of the training received from the program in obtaining a new position or maintaining a current position, supporting promotion or improving job related skills.
ACICS calculates placement rates as follows:

* Exemptions are certain categories of students which are excluded from the placement rate calculation. These categories are: pregnancy, death or other health-related issues, continuing education, military service, visa restrictions, enrollment in English as a Second Language (ESL) program, and incarceration.
