What You’ll Learn in Pharmacy Technician Training

In the online Pharmacy Technician program, you’ll learn how to be an effective member of a pharmacy team, with valuable knowledge and skills employers are looking for. You’ll graduate confident in your ability to work as a Pharmacy Technician. 

The courses in the Pharmacy Technician program include:

• Introduction to Pharmacy: Students will learn the qualifications, operational guidelines, and job duties of a pharmacy technician. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to discuss the purpose of the pharmacy department; identify the duties and responsibilities of a pharmacy technician; explain the importance of utilizing pharmacy resources; and summarize the importance of environmental safety standards, pharmacy safety, and personal safety and hygiene.
• Drug Classification Systems: Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to identify drug dosages, routes of administration, and dosage forms, identify types of drugs used in the treatment of disease processes, and describe pharmacological and regulatory classification systems.
• Certification Exam Prep: Students will demonstrate mastery of knowledge, and apply lecture and laboratory skills by completing a final project.
