Why choose Miller-Motte College for Phlebotomy Training?

Our Phlebotomy/ECG Technician program will give you the skills and hands-on experience you’ll need to be successful in not one, but two career paths: Electrocardiography (also known as ECG or EKG), the process of recording activity of the heart, and Phlebotomy, the process of drawing blood for donations, lab tests and more.

With our Phlebotomy/ECG training, you’ll be ready to sit for both the ECG and Phlebotomy Certification exams and enter a range of job positions. Here is an overview of three of the Phlebotomy and ECG courses you’ll take at Miller-Motte College:

  • Phlebotomy Clinic: In this course, you’ll learn about specimen collection, testing and transportation. We cover proper Phlebotomy techniques such as Point-of-Care testing, capillary punctures and venipuncture, as well as safety procedures for infection control.
  • Phlebotomy/ECG Review: This course prepares students to sit for the Phlebotomy and ECG national certifying exams. You’ll practice answering sample test questions and review material from previous courses.
  • Electrocardiography Theory: In this course, you’ll learn about topics such as anatomy of the heart, the cardiac cycle and electrophysiology. The course also covers electrocardiography equipment and how it is used to monitor heart rate and detect heart disease.
