The Hospital-Focused ICD-10 Coding Course at Miller-Motte

The ICD-10 course at Miller-Motte is offered in a 5-week setting. In less than two months you could have the knowledge base of the ICD (International Statistical Classification of Diseases) standardized medical billing and coding system, and have the skills to take the Proficiency Assessment Exam to demonstrate your understanding. 

The changes to the ICD-10 include more detailed coding for hospital inpatient procedures. Our instructors will guide you through this by focusing on the changes specific to medical staff working in a hospital setting. Course topics include:

  • Using General Equivalency Mapping (GEM) files to locate appropriate ICD-10 codes
  • Understanding coding guidelines, structure and definitions
  • Coding for medical, surgical and ancillary procedures

Miller-Motte’s ICD-10 certification course is recognized by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). This course is also eligible for continuing education credit.
