Start The Path Towards a Career in the Justice System with the Criminal Justice Program

Miller-Motte College’s Criminal Justice program gives you the opportunity to pursue a career within the justice system. This hybrid track program allows you to pursue an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice in a flexible environment that combines online learning with hands-on in-person experience. Enrollment is on a rolling basis with classes beginning every 5 to 10 weeks, and you can be finished with your Criminal Justice Degree in as little as 18 months.

Along with classroom education, students at Miller-Motte will get the opportunity to participate in an externship where they will get hands-on training in a workplace environment to strengthen their skills.

Associate of Applied Science: 92 Credits, 18 Months. 

Skills You'll Cover in the Criminal Justice Program

Study substantive criminal law as well as the corresponding law enforcement and criminal justice procedures. 

Explore social, economic, and psychological factors which may lead to crimes being committed. 

Discover current practices within the juvenile justice system as well as its evolution through the years.  

 Build a working knowledge of techniques and strategies used when investigating crime scenes such as collecting evidence, writing reports, conducting investigations, and more.

Analyze the motivations behind domestic and international terrorism agents as well as the impact of terrorism on international policy, domestic policy, and Homeland Security. 

 Develop a working knowledge of mental illness, commonly abused substances, and treatment options. 

 

Explore the role of criminal justice in cybercrime, cyber-victimization, and cyberterrorism.

 Develop an analytical understanding of the criminal justice system, court, police, and corrections at local, state, federal, and global levels.
