Our Certified Nursing Assistant program uses hands-on learning to help equip students with skills that can prepare them to sit for state licensing exams.* The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of the healthcare community as outlined by each state’s administrative code as well as the Federal Code. After successfully completing the written and skills state licensing exams, graduates can work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide skilled nursing care to selected patients. Enrollment is on a rolling basis and programs start every five weeks.

Develop working knowledge of essential medical terms to accurately understand and communicate patient conditions, care instructions, and clinical documentation.

Build foundational communication skills to interact effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Understand the ethical standards and legal guidelines that govern nurse aide practice, including patient rights, confidentiality (HIPAA), consent, and professional conduct.

Upon successful completion of the program, the student will have the ability to perform basic nursing skills proficiently, think critically, and communicate effectively within the Certified Nurse Assistant Scope of Practice. Graduates can then sit for their state licensed nursing assistant exams and, upon successful completion of those, can work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide skilled nursing care to patients.

A certified nurse assistant, also known as a certified nurse aide in Oklahoma, is a healthcare professional who provides basic patient care under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) or licensed practical nurses (LPNs). CNAs assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support. They also take vital signs, monitor patient conditions, and provide comfort to patients in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home healthcare settings.

To become a CNA in Oklahoma, you’ll need to:

  1. Submit the required documentation
    – An original Training Verification Form signed by the training program supervisor or approval letter from NAR
    – A valid, current photo identification issued by a government entity within the U.S. (e.g., passport, driver’s license, school-issued ID)
    Proof of the SSN:­
    – Social Security Card
    – Letter from Social Security Administration
    – W-2
    – Official Tax Return
  2. Complete a state-approved training program(Open Link in new window)

  3. Take and pass the state certification exam

Training to become a CNA in Oklahoma can take around one or two months depending on the school. At Miller-Motte College, you can complete CNA training in as little as four weeks!

Since our CNA program is short, a lot of information is covered in a short period. However, we reinforce textbook knowledge with hands-on training to make the material easier to understand. Our industry-experienced instructors will also be there to guide you and answer questions you may have.
