An IT Support Specialist is a professional who provides technical support and assistance to individuals or organizations in managing their computer systems, networks, and hardware. They help companies stay connected, resolve technology problems, and confirm that IT equipment functions correctly.

Generally, it can take about 18 months. In this time you can complete formal training and prepare for key industry certifications* like CompTIA A+. If you decide to pursue additional certifications or specialize in certain areas, it may take longer, but the 18-month training provides a solid foundation to help you start your career.

*Miller-Motte does not guarantee third-party certifications. Certification requirements for taking and passing certification examinations are not controlled by Miller-Motte but by outside agencies and are subject to change by the agencies without notice to Miller-Motte. Therefore, Miller-Motte cannot guarantee that graduates will be eligible to take certification examinations, regardless of their eligibility status upon enrollment.

After earning a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, you should complete an IT Support Specialist program that can help you prepare for industry certifications. Earning essential credentials, like CompTIA A+, can help demonstrate your competency and boost your professional profile.

We have general admissions requirements for our applicants such as having a high school diploma or equivalent and scheduling an interview with one of our Admissions Representatives. For more information on specific requirements, contact our Admissions team.
