Miller-Motte College’s Medical Clinical Assistant program helps prepare you to pursue a career within healthcare. This hybrid track program allows you to pursue a Medical Clinical Assisting diploma or certificate in a flexible environment that combines online learning with hands-on in-person experience. Enrollment is on a rolling basis with classes beginning every 5 to 10 weeks depending on location, and you can be finished with your Medical Clinical Assisting program in as little as 13 to 15 months.

Along with classroom education, students enrolled in the Medical Clinical Assisting Program at Miller-Motte will get the opportunity to participate in an externship where they will get hands-on training in a workplace environment to strengthen their skills.

Diploma: 72 Credit Hours, 15 Months. Fayetteville, Jacksonville, Raleigh, Wilmington, NC.

Skills You'll Cover in the medical clinical assistant Program

Students are exposed to common diagnostic procedures used in general and specialty healthcare offices.

Study medical terminology, medical abbreviations, bodily structures, functions, and common conditions/diseases.

Dig deeper into the administrative tasks performed in healthcare positions. Practice organizing assigned tasks and setting priorities as a member of a healthcare team.

Practice using computer software. In this course, students may study, practice, and improve computer skills to provide administrative support in an office or clinical setting.

Practice performing capillary sticks, microscopic examinations, safely obtaining samples, and following up with patients regarding their test results.

Examine commonly prescribed medications, medication terminology, effects and impact on the human body, and toxicity.

Practice preparing patients for exams and gain confidence supporting physicians before, during, and after patient examinations and treatments.

Explore the disease process and its impact on the human body. Practice educating patients on the disease process, prevention measures, and health maintenance.
