This course is the introductory course in computer organizations and architecture. Students will explore the basic concepts of computer organization and architecture including performance concepts, computer function and interconnection, memory hierarchy, cache memory, internal and external memory, input/output, operating system system support, number systems and computer arithmetic.
This course is a continuation of Computer Organizations and Architecture. In this course students will delve into digital logic, instruction sets, assembly language, processor structure and function, reduced instruction set computers, parallelism and superscalar processors, control unit operation and microprogrammed control and multicore computers.
This course is designed to familiarize students with concepts related to database structure and terminology, and SQL database query. Students will execute a simple query, perform a conditional search, work with functions, organize data, and retrieve data from multiple tables |
This capstone course is designed to provide an opportunity for the student to select and research a major computer science issue/problem in an organization of choice. The topic should represent current trends and issues in an area related to computer science or a closely related topic to be approved by the course instructor. This program capstone will require a needs assessment, action plan, and evaluation of the proposed strategy. This capstone course provides the student with an opportunity to demonstrate the cumulative knowledge attained in the course of study and formulate a concise plan for direct application in a real world setting.
