- Introduction to Dentistry: You will learn the role of Dental Assistants in the field of dentistry and understand both the professional and interpersonal skills necessary to succeed in this field. You will also understand your legal responsibilities in addition to receiving an overview of dentistry, such as specialties within the field, the history of dentistry and a preview of dental practice.
- Chairside Dental Assisting I & II: This two-part series of courses will prepare you for the clinical practicum by providing you with an overview of dental procedures, including nutritional counseling for dental patients, dental hygiene, fluoridation, patient and room preparation and taking oral histories.
- Dental Practicum I, II & III: The final practicum at the end of this course will allow you to complete a professional portfolio and finish your training experience in a professional environment. The three-part series of courses will give you practical experience as you learn and develop your skills under the supervision of a dentist in a dental facility such as a clinic, office or hospital.
