Miller-Motte’s Surgical Technology program helps prepare you for the chance to pursue a successful career within surgical teams at healthcare facilities. This program allows you to pursue an Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology in a flexible environment that combines classroom learning with hands-on in-person experience. Enrollment is on a rolling basis with programs beginning every 10 weeks, and you can be finished with your Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology diploma in as little as 18 months.

Along with classroom education, students at Miller-Motte will get the opportunity to participate in clinical rotations where they will get hands-on training in a workplace environment to strengthen their skills.

Enhance your understanding of anesthesia, surgical pharmacology, patient care, drug calculations and more. Practice planning and implementing pre-, intra-, and post-operative patient care.

Train to keep your patients safe at a microscopic level. Study topics in microbiology related to patient care and infection control.

Disease can impact the body and its systems in numerous ways. Study the disease process, how the human body copes with disease, and how disease may progress and be treated.

Drugs other than anesthesia may be used in the operating room. Prepare to identify and calculate pharmaceuticals. Explore anesthesia monitoring devices as well as potential complications and interventions.

Let’s take a field trip starting with the history of surgical technology and ending with the ethical, moral, and legal responsibilities of surgical technologists. (Yes, actual field trips to affiliate hospital facilities are permitted.

Step into our campus operating room suite to gain hands-on experience through clinical simulations. Put your knowledge of basic surgical procedures to the test before your Surgical Clinical Practicums.
