Our History
Miller-Motte started with one campus in 1916 in the city of Wilmington, NC. Founded by Judge Leon Motte, the school began as a training center for courtroom stenographers. Eventually in the late 1980s, Miller-Motte expanded into Tennessee and began to evolve. Miller-Motte now includes 7 campuses spread across five different states: North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. Miller-Motte is a part of Ancora Education.
In January 2018, STVT-AAI Education Inc. dba Ancora Education acquired Miller-Motte in Fayetteville, NC, Jacksonville, NC, Raleigh, NC, Wilmington, NC, Augusta, GA, Columbus, GA, Macon, GA, Charleston, SC, Conway, SC, and Chattanooga, TN. As part of the acquisition, the schools became accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), as branch campuses of Platt College in Tulsa, OK. In 2021, the main campus was re-designated to Miller-Motte Chattanooga.
In 2025, Lindenwood Education System acquired Ancora Education, the parent organization of Miller-Motte College, further supporting our growth, resources, and commitment to providing high-quality, career-focused education.
