College announces a thousand, $2,500 scholarships may be awarded to students interested in enrolling in Early Childhood Education Program
Chattanooga, TN – (April 10, 2024) — Ancora Education, a leading workforce solutions provider, has announced Miller-Motte College (MMC) campus in Chattanooga, Tennessee, may award a thousand, $2,500 scholarships annually to students who are interested in enrolling in its online Early Childhood Education Program.
This is the first time MMC has ever offered the scholarship, which coincides with Week of The Young Child (April 6-12), an annual celebration, sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, to promote the importance of early childhood education.
The Early Childhood Education Program at MMC is a 92-credit program that helps students prepare to pursue a career working with children at their youngest stages. It is offered online to allow students to pursue an Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education degree in a flexible environment. Enrollment is on a rolling basis with classes beginning every 5 weeks, and students can complete their Early Childhood Education degree in as little as 18 months.*
Scholarship applicants must meet the online program admissions requirements to qualify, complete a scholarship application, and complete an essay of 150 words or more on why they are passionate about the Early Childhood Education field.
To remain eligible, students must maintain satisfactory academic progress, adhere to the MMC Code of Conduct policy, and be continuously enrolled in the program until completion. The scholarship will be divided equally by the number of terms applicable to the program of study and will be applied to each term as the student progresses through their program of study.
“We’re so excited to be able to offer this scholarship for students,” said Jennifer Cruz, Program Director for Early Childhood Education at Miller-Motte College. “The education of young children is vital because it is the starting point for life and educational success. Here at Miller-Motte College we are committed to providing a solid educational foundation to students interested in pursuing a career in Early Childhood Education so they can make the greatest impact in the lives of the children, family, and communities that they serve.”
Cruz said throughout the program students gain a foundation in special needs, STEM, child development, an understanding of play in the classroom, differing learning styles, and the importance of teaching the whole child.
