Our career services team helps new and existing students clarify their career goals through career advising. They work with students throughout their program to create actionable next steps and explore additional learning opportunities. While these continuing education suggestions are optional, they may provide deeper industry insight and additional experience.
Our career services team helps MMC graduates strengthen their resumes, CV letters, and interview skills by performing mock interviews. This support along with a new skill set helps students present themselves in a favorable light to potential employers.
Miller-Motte offers a wide range of short-term, career-focused programs across our Augusta, Columbus, and Macon, GA campuses. Each program helps students turn their technical knowledge into practical skills through hands-on training, group work, and projects.
Career Training Programs in Augusta, GA
Miller-Motte’s Augusta, GA campus offers programs in business, education, healthcare, skilled trades, and technology. Each of our hybrid programs can be completed in 18 months or less. Upon successful program completion, students should be ready for entry-level positions in their field of study.
Associate of Occupational Science Programs
Our Business Administration degree program helps prepare students to manage small businesses. It explores a wide range of topics including business law, economics, and the importance and function of human resources (HR). This hybrid program can be completed in as little as 18 months.
Associate of Occupational Science Programs
Students can earn an Associate of Occupational Science degree through our Augusta campus for the following hybrid programs:
- Early Childhood Education
- Healthcare Information Technology
- IT Support Specialist
Our Early Childhood Education program prepares students to help create inclusive, dynamic, and engaging lesson plans for young children. Students can examine typical developmental milestones for children ages zero to eight and ways to identify young learners with disabilities. They can practice creating positive learning environments, developing ways to reinforce positive behavior, understanding age-appropriate curricula, and more.
Our Healthcare Information Technology program trains students to collect, verify, and analyze healthcare information and data. Students can practice using coding systems, investigating coding errors, interpreting results of healthcare research, developing sound judgment, and more. Students can also prepare for the coding certification exam* as part of this program.

Prepare for a variety of information technology careers with our IT Support Specialist program. Students practice diagnosing and resolving common PC hardware and software errors, preparing help desk tickets, and assessing security risks. Students are exposed to CompTIA Network+ certification concepts as they complete our program.
All three of these programs can be completed in 18 months at our Augusta campus.
Certificate Programs
Miller-Motte College awards certificates to students who complete the following programs at our Augusta campus:
- CDL Training: Class A Tractor Trailer
- Medical Billing and Coding
- Medical Clinical Assisting
Prepare to safely operate big rigs with our CDL Training: Class A Tractor Trailer program. Students will practice performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting malfunctions, and handling cargo. Students will also practice performing basic maneuvers such as a straight line back, pull up, alley docking, and offset maneuvers.
Graduates of our CDL program must earn their CDL license* before they can legally operate their big rigs. Our hands-on CDL program can be completed in as little as four weeks.

Train to identify, assign, and verify diagnostic and procedural medical codes with our Medical Billing and Coding program. Students can study health information laws and regulations, the impact of coding guideline revisions, healthcare reimbursement, and more. Students can complete this Medical Billing & Coding program in 15 months.
Prepare for in-demand careers in healthcare with our Medical Clinical Assistant program. Students can demonstrate their understanding of safety and infection control as they practice performing capillary sticks and urinalysis tests. Students can also gain experience managing electronic health records, preparing patients for diagnostic imaging studies, and helping during patent exams.
Our hybrid Medical Clinical Assistant program can be completed in 13 months through our Augusta campus.
Career Training Programs in Columbus, GA
Training for new careers is quick and hands-on with programs offered through Miller-Motte’s Columbus, GA campus. We offer career-focused training in business, education, information technology, and healthcare. Each hybrid program offered through our Columbus campus can be completed in 18 months or less.
Associate of Occupational Science Programs
Earn an Associate of Occupational Science for the following programs in only 18 months at MMC Columbus:
- Business Administration
- Early Childhood Education
- IT Support Specialist
Discover what it takes to manage a small business with our hybrid Business Administration program. Students can examine basic accounting principles, the legal responsibilities of managing a business, financial markets, and ways to raise capital. Students can also use their understanding of modern business concepts to create a business plan.
Prepare to create and maintain positive learning environments with our Early Childhood Education program. Students can discover the ways to involve parents in their child’s education and ways to maintain nutrition in childcare settings. Students can also examine the importance of introducing science, technology, engineering, and math to young learners.
The Early Childhood education program prepares students for entry level careers within the childcare and early education fields. This program does not prepare students for any type of teaching or related licensing exams. Although the information taught in this program may be helpful, it does not prepare students to become a licensed teacher.
Train to install, troubleshoot, and maintain PCs, printers, and wireless networks with our IT Support Specialist program. Students can cover the basics of networking and security as well as practice providing customer support. Students are exposed to CompTIA Network+ competencies as part of our program.
Certificate Programs
Students can earn a certificate in our Medical Billing and Coding program as well as our Medical Clinical Assistant program.
Practice assigning diagnostic and procedural medical codes with our hybrid Medical Billing and Coding program. Students can practice completing CMS1500 claim forms, processing and billing insurance claims, as well as using coding manuals. Students can prepare for their coding certification* exam as they complete this 15-month program.

Practice obtaining lab samples and processing medical insurance claims with our Medical Clinical Assistant program. Students in this program train to assist physicians during patient exams and explain physician instructions to patients. Students can also practice updating and maintaining electronic health records.
Our hybrid Medical Clinical Assistant program can be completed in as little as 13 months.
Career Training Programs in Macon, GA
Our Macon campus offers career-relevant programs in business and healthcare. Students can quickly develop new skills and become ready for careers in their field of study in 18 months or less.
Associate of Occupational Science Programs
We offer an Associate of Occupational Science degree for our Business Administration and Pharmacy Technician programs.
Delve into the basics of business law with our Business Administration program. Students explore the buyer’s journey to understand customer concerns and financial markets to understand the flow of funds. Students will also create marketing plans for the business students may want to start.
Our hybrid Business Administration program can be completed in 18 months.
Practice calculating, converting, and preparing prescriptions with our Pharmacy Technician program. Students explore the interactions, side effects, and incompatibilities of different medications to ensure patient safety while preparing patient prescriptions. Students are also exposed to pharmacy law and regulations, billing and reimbursement, as well as sterile product preparation.
Students can prepare for their Pharmacy Technician certification* exam as part of our hybrid Pharmacy Technician program. It can also be completed in 18 months.

Certificate Programs
Certificates are awarded to students who successfully complete our Medical Billing and Coding as well as Medical Clinical Assistant programs.
Practice using medical coding manuals to assign diagnostic and procedural codes with our Medical Billing and Coding program. Students examine the legal responsibilities of health information practitioners and practice assigning codes for optimal reimbursements. Students can also review coding licensure exam competencies such as compliance, different ways to apply reimbursement, and more.
Our hybrid Medical Billing and Coding program can be completed in 15 months.
Prepare to handle administrative, clinical, and lab tasks in medical offices with our Medical Clinical Assistant program. Students can practice updating and maintaining electronic health records, performing allergy tests, preparing patients for diagnostic exams and more. Students can also practice obtaining lab samples for testing and performing select laboratory procedures such as urinalysis testing.
Our hybrid Medical Clinical Assisting program can be completed in 13 months.
